The Cathedral Shelter of Chicago works hard to restore hope and prevent homelessness for many individuals by offering programs and services to those in need. One of these successful programs is the Christmas Basket Program which St. James has generously supported over the years.
Once again we are asking for your help. The wishes of three families, three seniors and three homeless individuals are posted in the back of the Cathedral. Anything you are willing to donate from these lists would be most appreciated.Only Jewel gift cards are being accepted -- it's easy to carry and allows them to purchase on their own, whatever food items they need.
Drop off of donations in Burrill Hall: Sunday, November 29 from 8:30 until 11:00 am or Sunday, December 6 from 8:30 am until 12:30 pm. Volunteers are needed on December 6 to help collect and pack up all the boxes that will be picked up by the Cathedral Shelter the next day. If you would like to help out, or have any questions, please contact Karen Ferrantella at 312.337.7044 or karen@old-town.us.
If anyone has a connection with obtaining medium size moving boxes -- it would be most appreciated! Thank you for your help by reaching out to those in need this holiday season.
