March 15, 2007 Completed
The Right Reverend William D. Persell, Bishop of Chicago, announces the appointment of The The Rev. Dr. Joy Edith Rogers as Provost of St. James Cathedral. She will begin her minsitry at the Cathedral on May 15, 2007. A service of celebration and welcome will take place Sunday, June 3, 2007.
March 2007 Completed
Search Committee recommends 3 candidates to the Bishop for his final selection.
February 2007 Completed
Finalist candidates visit Chicago to meet Bishop, Search Committee, Senior Staff, Executive Committee, Chapter.
December 2006 - January 2007 Completed
Semi-finalist candidates visited by groups of three from the Search Committee to determine finalists.
October-November 2006 Completed
Search Committee conducts long distance interviews and selects 5 to 7 semi-finalist candidates to be visited in person.
August-September 2006 Completed
Search Committee formed. Bishop and diocesan staff evaluate applicants and present 15 candidates to Search Committee.
June-July 2006 Completed
Chapter appoints Task Force to update St. James Parish Profile and fill out Parish Search Request document from the National Church’s Church Deployment Office. Candidate names solicited from congregation. Bishop's office collects additional names.
