Saint James Cathedral

Youth Food Project for Lent

During Lent, Cathedral youth are reflecting on hunger: both hunger for God and peoples' hunger for food, remembering the children and adults who daily go without food in our city, our country, and beyond our borders.

A large cross has been set up in the narthex (lobby) of the cathedral as a sign of Christ's suffering and the physical hunger of Christ's people. We invite you to bring non-perishable foods to place at the foot of the cross and are hoping that enough will be brought to cover the eight-foot cross from view -- a mountain of food!
