Uziel Hernandez Martinez

Uziel Hernandez Martinez joined the St. James Cathedral staff in January 2023 as a receptionist, where his main responsibility is to welcome guests and visitors. Originally from Tabasco, Mexico, Uziel moved to the United States with his family more than twenty years ago in his early teens to the north central side of Tennessee. He lived in Tennessee for a little more than ten years before moving to the Chicago area to pursue theological higher education. Uziel has a B.S. in Philosophy and Religion (2011) from the University of Tennessee Southern and a Master of Divinity degree (2014) from Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary. He has lived in the Chicago area for eleven years. Currently, he is a student of Pre-Med at Northern Illinois University, pursuing entering medical school to become an orthopedic surgeon. He is a member and attends St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Glen Ellyn, Illinois.
