Pastoral Care

Pastoral Care Team

Pastoral care helps those in need by lessening the impact of being alone, ill, or overwhelmed. If you are in need or know of someone who would benefit from one of the following services, please email Steven Balke

  • A priest to visit at the hospital or your home to talk and pray.
  • A St. James member to bring Communion to you if you're unable to attend Sunday morning services.
  • A name added to the prayer list, which is published in the bulletins and prayed for by St. James members.

Prayer Ministry

St. James members pray for those we know and, often, many we do not know. We pray as a community every time we gather and, for those with specific needs, we pray individually through our prayer providers. They pray daily for four or five specific individuals.

Prayers of the People are read aloud during Sunday services. After a month on the prayer list, names can be placed on a long-term list. The names of those we pray for are listed at the back of each bulletin and in the weekly email newsletter.

Please submit our Prayer Request Form or email Steven Balke your prayer requests. He will reach out periodically for updates so that your prayer provider may pray for current concerns. If you are drawn to pray for others as part of your spiritual commitments, join the St. James prayer providers by emailing Steven.
