Our baptismal covenant asks us to “strive for justice, peace, and dignity among all people.”  To that end, St. James Cathedral organizes an annual evening to raise money specifically for outreach programs. This year, the Cathedral Gala is Friday, September 28 at 7 p.m.

“A Night at the Museum: Treasures of the Renaissance” will raise $40,000 for the cathedral’s outreach ministries, providing warm meals for our hungry neighbors, excitement and education for Chicago youth, and charitable discretionary gifts. All are welcome! It is not uncommon for people to dress formally for the Gala, however, our priority is that you feel comfortable.

Shared Meals are central to the life of St. James Cathedral. The evening's buffet dinner and classic nonalcoholic beverages are sure to be works of art in their own right. There will be an open bar with Italian wine and a signature cocktail with traditional Florentine flavors.

The Wine Pull is a Gala tradition of buying an unmarked bag containing a bottle of Italian wine ranging in value from $15 to $300!

The Silent Auction returns this year featuring works of art donated by our parishioners and local artists. If you would like to donate, email Alan Taylor.

The Tune Contest is a chance for everyone to have a little input on music at St. James. The next Sunday, Stephen Buzard will improvise pipe organ music based on the tune with the most financial support.

The Paddle Raise is a time for Cathedral members and friends to put their treasure where their heart is, supporting the ministries that enrich our wider community.
