Mamatha Akkineni
Mamatha Akkineni (email) serves as Staff Accountant at St. James Cathedral, where she supports the Cathedral’s financial operations with diligence, integrity, and a strong commitment to accuracy. In her role, Mamatha assists with daily accounting activities, financial reporting, and month-end close processes to help ensure responsible and transparent management of resources.
Before joining the Cathedral, Mamatha gained over two years of professional experience at a Chartered Accountant firm in India, where she worked on audits, financial statement preparation, tax compliance, and internal control reviews for a diverse range of clients. After relocating to the United States, she spent eight months in nonprofit accounting with TBCC, expanding her experience in mission-driven financial operations.
Mamatha holds a Master of Science in Audit and Advisory Services from DePaul University, graduating with a 3.8 GPA, and a Bachelor of Commerce. She is currently preparing to pursue her CPA licensure as part of her commitment to continued professional growth.
Known for her attention to detail and thoughtful, solution-oriented approach, clarity and efficiency in financial processes.
