Nico Tjoelker ACTING DIRECTOR OF MUSIC
Nico Tjoelker joined the St. James staff in August of 2025 as Assistant Director of Music. Currently, Nico runs the Cathedral’s multifaceted, intergenerational music program as the Acting Music Director. He is a candidate for the Doctor of Musical Arts in organ at the University of Notre Dame, studying with Professor Kola Owolabi. Previously, he earned a Master of Music in organ from Yale University (2023), studying with Professors Martin Jean, Carole Terry, and James O’Donnell. At Yale, he was Director of Music at Berkeley Divinity School and served as Organ Scholar at Trinity Episcopal Church on the Green, where he assisted Walden Moore in directing the adult and children’s choirs. Dr. Andrew Megill CONDUCTOR IN RESIDENCE
Dr. Andrew Megill is an internationally recognized choral conductor and educator, serving as Professor of Conducting and Director of Choral Organizations at Northwestern University’s Bienen School of Music, where he holds the Carol F. and Arthur L. Rice, Jr. University Professorship in Performance. He holds a DMA from Rutgers University and previously taught at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and Westminster Choir College.
In addition to his academic work, Andrew leads Music of the Baroque, the Montreal Symphony Orchestra Chorus, the Carmel Bach Festival Chorale, and Fuma Sacra. He has prepared choirs for major orchestras including the New York Philharmonic, Cleveland Orchestra, National Symphony, and Dresden Philharmonie, collaborating with many of the world’s leading conductors. His repertoire ranges from early music and historically informed performance to contemporary works, and he is particularly admired for his performances of Baroque choral music. His extensive conducting career includes numerous premieres, recordings, and collaborations with leading period-instrument ensembles.
Katrina Dubbs INTERIM CHORISTER PROGRAM ASSISTANT
Katrina Dubbs joined the Cathedral Choir at St. James in 2021 and is looking forward to supporting the Chorister Program this season. She has taught privately and in classroom settings, most recently with Music of the Baroque’s Strong Voices program. Katrina received a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Westminster Choir College and Master of Music in Voice Performance from California State University, Northridge.
