Tamarra Newbern

Tamarra Newbern recently re-joined the Cathedral staff as Associate for Communications. A communications professional and creative producer, Tamarra brings experience across media production, live broadcasting, digital communications, social media, and marketing.

She holds a B.A. in Communications from the University of Illinois Springfield and has built a diverse career in media and communications, working across nonprofit, corporate, broadcast, and creative environments. Her professional experience includes live television production, digital content strategy, social media management, video production, livestreaming, and organizational communications.

In her role at the Cathedral, Tamarra works to strengthen the Cathedral’s digital presence and tell its story through engaging, thoughtful, and accessible communications. She supports the organization’s social media, digital content, website communications, livestreaming, and other media initiatives, with a focus on connecting the Cathedral’s ministries and community with a broader audience.

Tamarra is particularly passionate about visual storytelling and using media to help organizations communicate their mission in authentic and compelling ways. Outside of her work in organizational communications, she also works as a freelance filmmaker and content producer, creating cinematic video and digital content for weddings, events, and creative projects.
