2022 Parish Retreat

 

From Friday, March 11 through Sunday, March 13, at the DeKoven Center in Racine, WI, the Very Rev. John Pritchard, former Bishop of Oxford, will lead St. James members on a journey through Lent in preparation for Easter in our 2022 Lenten Retreat, "Let Him Easter In Us: Exploring Easter as a Verb." The cost is $250.00 for the weekend and limited scholarships are available. 

NOTE: We can arrive and get settled into our rooms at the retreat center anytime after 4:00 p.m. on Friday, and the retreat begins at 6:00 p.m. with dinner. The retreat ends with lunch at Noon on Sunday.  A more detailed schedule will be sent to you prior to the retreat. John Pritchard 

John Pritchard, former Bishop of Oxford and accomplished author, served as Bishop of Jarrow, Archdeacon of Canterbury and Warden of Cranmer Hall, Durham before his appointment in Oxford. His only ambition was to be a vicar, which he was in Taunton for eight happy years. John has written a number of popular books including How to Pray, The Intercessions Handbook, The Life and Work of a Priest and Living Jesus.

The DeKoven Center

DeKoven’s Retreat & Conference Center offers guests lodging, dining, and gathering areas. Guests have access to 11 acres of lovely gardens, serene wooded areas, and lakefront walking paths. Parking is available on-site, and the center’s location along Lake Michigan’s shoreline allows for easy access to Racine’s Downtown shopping and harbor areas.
